Weekend Getaway
I’m about a week overdue in writing this entry…which isn’t too bad since I have only been blogging for a few days now. But, I it was such a delightful overnight getaway that it is a good topic for today!
In Boise, we are blessed with an abundance of mountain getaway options within a couple hours of town. My husband and I had a great opportunity a week ago to go to the Sun Valley area. We stayed in a fabulous little B&B called “The Inn at Ellsworth Estate” www.ellsworthestate.com in Hailey. Hailey is about a 20 min. drive outside of the Ketchum/Sun Valley area and tends to be a little easier on the pocketbook. The innkeeper, Steven, suggested a fantastic place for dinner called “CK’s” and our breakfast was tops - a fruit dish, scrambled eggs w/smoked trout, toast, and bananas foster. I highly recommend a stay there. We only stayed one night because our kids were with their grandparents, but we’d gladly have stayed several more. Also, if you are in the Ketchum area, you must eat at Cristina’s. It is one of my favorite restaurants of all time - a fact my husband routinely harasses me about (but he certainly was not complaining about lunch!).
