A Procrastinator’s Christmas Dream…

So last weekend I was on a mission.  To finish all my Christmas shopping in one night.  Some of it was already done, but much was left unfinished - primarily because my schedule just hasn’t allowed for it.  I know there’s wisdom in shopping throughout the year, but the problem is, I tend to forget about things I’ve bought, for whom I have bought, and worst of all …  where I put it!

So, I got a late start (long story that starts with a hair cut!), and got to the Boise Towne Square Mall at 8:30.  That left me an hour and a half to shop (the close at 10).  Not quite enough time.  On my way out of the parking I discovered one of my saving graces…  extended holiday shopping hours at Toys R Us.  They closed at midnight.  With the nieces and nephews shopping complete, I headed over to Walgreens - oh ya!  24 hours, baby!  Stocking stuffers here I come.

I made it home by 1:00 that night, and realized I was still three gifts short.  Arrr!

Then, yesterday…call it an early Merry Christmas, or whatever you like….but there it was staring back at me from an add in the Idaho Statesman.  Oodles of ads proclaiming the good tidings and great joyous news…MORE STORES OPEN LATE!

Moms, rejoice!  Let Dad put the kids to bed, and hit the stores!  The best part is that the stores are not nearly as crowded at the late hours.

Here are a few…feel free to post others you may know about.

Kohls - open until midnight on select nights (call the store to check)

Big Lots - open until midnight

JCPenney - Open until midnight I believe - this weekend (call ahead to check)

Cabela’s - open until 10 through this weekend

TJ Maxx - Open until 11:00 M-Sat

Walgreens - several are 24 hours
