Resolution #1

Every successful resolution starts with a plan!  So, I thought I’d take the next few days to go through the resolution top 10 list (see previous post) and how you can accomplish each resolution in the Treasure Valley.  So, here we go.

1. Spend More Time with Family & Friends

This is an easy one.  The hard part will be making the time a priority!  So, once you figure out how to get away from work “on time,” plan ahead to make sure you spend your precious “free time” wisely.

Here are six ideas…

1.  Plan a regular dinner such as Sunday dinner at your (or someone else’s) house.  Every week a tough one? Then just plan to do it once a month!  As a kid, we used to go out to Elmers Pancake House (on Fairview) with friends after church.  It was a fun tradition…and I always looked forward to trying all the different syrups and playing in the wishing fountain while we waited for the table (do they still have that?). You’ll cherish the time as you reconnect with your loved ones!  And, the tradition will become a great memory for years to come!

2. Plan a girls (or boys) night out!  Once a month or once a week, identify a night you get together with your friends to go get coffee, or play poker.

3. Set aside a family game night once a week when you just hang out with your kids.

4.  Got Ski Passes?  Ski together!  At least once a month protect your ski time as a family - or go with a good friend that you don’t see very often.

5.  Make a list of the friends you’d like to have over for dinner.  Then, systematically invite someone for dinner each month.

6. Sit down with your kids and ask them what special things they’d like to do with you this year.  Have them create a top 10 list and then plan it out.
