Smoke it out - Resolution #4
Quit Smoking. Admittedly, this is one I’m glad to say I don’t have a lot … well, any … experience with. I know there are many of you who do, however. They say the average smoker trying to quit fails 4 times before success. So take heart. I did a quick search online to see what kinds of resources are available in the Boise area. Here’s what I found.
1. www.quitsmokingonline.comis an online company based in Boise. Services are free, and they also provide counselors.
2. Here’s an interactive tool from Healthwise (Boise) http://health.yahoo.com/smoking-overview/interactive-tool-are-you-ready-to-quit-smoking/healthwise–te7959.html that helps you assess your quitting-readiness.
3. Body Builders.com (a Boise-based web company for body builders) offers a testimonial of how one person quit - along with more resources. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/quitsmoking.htm
4. Idaho Department of Health and Welfare: http://www.idaho.quitnet.com/
5. Here’s a guy that offers hypnotherapy for smokers: http://www.idahohypnotherapy.com/programs.html (NOTE: I know nothing of this Dr. and the fact that he’s listed here should not be considered an endorsement - I just found his info online)
6. Here’s an article from KTRV FOX 12’s website about smoking cessation: http://fox12idaho.com/Global/story.asp?S=5566246
Good luck! My lungs thank you for it!
