Seriously? I know you think I’m crazy for such a question and it’s not yet February. BUT! There’s a method to my madness… Either 1) I’m in desperate need of thinking Spring… or 2) I’m Irish… or 3) I’m an absolute fanatic of drinking green beer (to go with the German in me) or 4) I know several of you caught dance fever at Riverdance earlier this week. Hmmmm….
Okay, so a little shameless promotion here for a local non-profit Irish Dance group that I happen to be pretty fond of through personal professional dealings and friendships. Tiernan Irish Dancers – in my book, they are the Treasure Valley’s premiere Irish dance school. And, if you are up on your Irish Dance lore, you’ll know that the fact that the school was founded by Mark Howard of Trinity Irish Dancers in Chicago is no small potatoes (he was doing Irish Dance on the Johnny Carson show way before you’d ever heard of Michael Flatley or Riverdance…).
Anyway, I digress. If you have kids that are bugging you about dance lessons, before you blindly enroll them in ballet, or tap, give Tiernan a second look. The instruction is top-notch and the school is first-class. You can learn more at www.tiernanirishdancers.com which lists upcoming performances as well as new class starts.
