Have you been to the McCall Winter Carnival?  It’s going on, right now, and it’s an absolutely incredible display of massive ice sculptures.  You will likely not be able to find a “room at the inn” at this late date, unless perhaps you tried for a mid-week visit.  Weekends book months in advance at popular haunts.
