PILLOW FIGHT!

What’s the last time you had a good pillow fight?  If you’re like me, you may have had one not too long ago with your kids.  I remember as a kid thinking pillow fights were one of the best part of sleep-overs. 

Well, believe it or not, but there is now an official holiday - just for pillow fighting - and it’s coming up this Saturday. And, yes, Boise is taking part - in front of Boise City Hall on Capitol Blvd., downtown!   Here are the “official” details:

3:00 PM - 3:05 PMHi children of all ages. New to the official government holiday calender is the new World Pillow Fight Day. This year the event is on March 22, 2008 at exactly 3pm in front of city hall. This event has a few rules:“+ Soft pillows only!
+ Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once.
+ Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras.
+ Remove glasses beforehand!
+ The event is free and appropriate for all ages.
+ Wait until the signal to begin.
+ This event is more fun with feathers!”

This event is open to as many people as possible. The fighting will go on for exactly 5 minutes and then everyone will walk away. The event is for people of all ages. Pass this on the any and everyone. No one will be excluded from this event. We are looking to have it filmed, so if anyone has a camera that can put it on Youtube that would be awesome. Please re-post this anywhere you can, we really want lots of people.

    Are you going? I’m planning to “surprise” my family (ages 21-29, but whatever) by driving them down there and stowing the pillows in the trunk until the last possible minute. :)

    No - unfortunately, we’ve got an Easter egg hunt in the neighborhood to attend! ;-) Let us know how the Pillow Fight goes though because it sounds like an absolute blast!!!

    Well, either I somehow got the wrong place or no one else showed. So much for that.

    But we did get in a nice bike ride up around Hidden Springs (are you in that neck of the woods? for some reason I have that impression) a little earlier, and my sister was delighted just to get out and about in downtown Boise, even if nothing came of it. :)

    Well, sounds like you’re the type of person who knows how to turn lemons into lemonade… Yesterday was a great day for a bike ride, unfortunately, I was inside for most of it getting ready for Easter (we had quite a crew over today…more on that another day perhaps…).
    Yep, I’m in the Hidden Springs area - you weren’t hallucinating! Biking up here? You are certainly ambitious!!! Hope you enjoyed it!
