Let’s Roll!
I was thinking today about Todd Beamer - you know the guy on the United flight that was crashed by terrorists on 9/11 who’s famous last audible words were “Let’s Roll!” I was musing about those words and the Easter story today and the thought occurred to me, that I could really imagine Jesus saying something along those lines too…only for him, it would be literal (as in rolling away the stone) as well as figurative (as in, let’s get this thing done!!).
I am really excited about Easter services tomorrow. A friend of mine in at Bible study has renamed our church “Rock and Roll” church, because there’s very little “traditional” about it…right down to the rock and roll Sunday morning music. It’s definitely not for everyone, but for people who shy away from “organized religion” because they are uncomfortable with traditional stuff or think traditional churches are too “old,” New Heights Christian Fellowship is a great option. For us, we were drawn there because of the people. To be honest, there’s a lot about “traditional churches” that I personally really like, appreciate, and sometimes miss, but when you find a church so warm and friendly you know you are at home.
There are lots of great churches in the valley…and many more I’m sure that could be classified as “rock and roll”…but if you’re looking for something a little different, feel free to check it out. You can find out more about our pastor Doug Murren at www.dougmurren.com. The church is located at 9950 W. Ustick, which is between Five Mile and Maple Grove. Services are at 9:30 and 11:00 which children’s programs offered at 11.

Happy Easter

- I’m just another person who loves living in Boise and sharing places.
Just wanted to tell you that I love reading your blog and love your adventurous spirit. Not sure if you like Chinese food, but if you do, I wanted to recommend a place called Ocean City (buffet) - the food is good, and the ambience is great
By the way, I’m not marketing this restaurant in any way

Bavani - Thanks for the kind comments! So nice to get good feed back!
Hope you also had a happy Easter!
Actually contrary to popular belief (of some of my friends…
I do happen to LOVE Chinese food. Unfortunately, several years ago while we were living in the south, there was a chinese food place we frequented at least once/week it would seem. One unfortunate night, after my favorite sweet and sour pork entree, I woke up with the worst case of food poisoning and almost made my husband take me to the ER. Long story short, I haven’t been able to eat chinese food since. Believe me, I’ve tried, but my stomach seems to have a memory…and that is my very sad story about why I’m always causing havoc when friends suggest great chinese food places to eat!!! I’ll tell my parents though about this one…since chinese food is a tradition (well, use to be for me anyway…
in my family for New Years Eve!!! Thanks fo the tip!

Don’t worry about it - I know how you feel - I love the Teriyaki Chicken Alfredo Pasta at Smokey Mountain but get sick every single time I eat it - but I never learn my lesson - I’ll keep you updated with other finds

I love Chinese food but had to stop eating it in restruants due to food allergies. I’m very allergic to shellfish & had a bad reaction with shellfish ended up in my food.
