Looking for something to do this weekend?
If you’re planning to stick around town or are hosting out-of-town guests, there’s still plenty to do in the Treasure Valley.
VETERANS SERVICES
Idaho State Veterans Cemetery
The ceremony will feature a wreath laying ceremony, bagpipes, the Idaho National Guard 25th Army Band and a 21-gun and cannon salute. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, there will be a military fly over by the Idaho National Guard and a release of white doves.
The program begins at 10:45 a.m. Monday at 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise. Attendees may park at the Optimist Youth Sports Complex, 9889 Hill Road, and take a shuttle provided by Brown Bus Company of Nampa to and from the cemetery.
Comments will be given by Sens. Larry Craig and Mike Crapo, Rep. Bill Sali, and Brigadier General Sayler, with the keynote address given by Daniel Eismann, chief justice of the Idaho Supreme Court. Speakers also will recognize current service men and woman.
Morris Hill and Pioneer Cemeteries
Morris Hill and Pioneer cemeteries will be open to visitors throughout the Memorial Day Weekend and several veterans groups have special tributes planned on Monday.
The Idaho Civil War Volunteers will perform graveside services with a 21-gun salute at 9 a.m. Monday.

On Monday, the Veterans of Foreign Wars will put small flags on every grave in the Fields of Honors and Silent Camp at Morris Hill Cemetery.
The American Legion will raise American flags around the Mausoleum.
Visitors are welcome to place artificial flowers, flags, fresh flowers, and wreaths on the graves. All mementos must be picked up by June 4 for those who wish to retain them.
