I had a business lunch today and when I looked at the invite on my calendar was surprised to see my client had chosen “Jakers.” When I used to work off Parkcenter Blvd years ago, this restaurant was standard fare for team lunches. My husband and I, however thought that in recent years, the food had declined somewhat.
Anyway, Jakers opened up a new location off of Eagle Road. It’s actually a very odd location – kind of behind Goodwood BBQ. You can’t really see the building from the road. Well, my curiosity was peaked. They always had the best scones, and I couldn’t wait to taste their lunch – and service. It was a great experience. The help was attentive and everyone’s dishes (there were 6 of us and I think we each had something different) were really great!
I ended up having the chicken Caesar salad (dressing on the side). When my dish arrived with out the chicken, they were very quick to correct the error. AND, let me just tell you it was very tasty!

GLG, may just have to add Jakers to the list. I can remenber when it was still Jakes and downtown were China Blue is now.

I’ve only been to Jakers twice now but I’m obsessed with their pre-meal rolls… like a cross between a buttery dinner roll and a croissant… getting hungry now….
