Rock out with Elton John’s original guitarist June 29

Here’s a news release from New Heights Christian Fellowship about an upcoming visit by Elton John’s original guitarist and childhood friend, Caleb Quaye.

Note:  This event happens to be at my church, and is an event that I’m helping to promote (but to be clear, I’m not being compensated for this!).

JR Simplot…1909-2008

As a child I remember going to visit my Oma who lived just off of Bogus Basin Road at the base of the “highlands” in the Boise foothills.  I remember gawking at the big house with arched windows perched high on the hill with the BIG American flag waiving unfurled in the wind.

Easter Sunrise Services

I’m not much of a morning person.  I wish I was, but by nature, I’m a night owl.  One of these years I WILL go to an Easter sunrise service…maybe when Easter falls a little later in the year when morning temps aren’t so chilly!  But, if you are interested in finding an Easter Sunrise [...]

Sweep Thanksgiving Under the Rug

We decorated our tree this morning.  It was the culminating event to the completion of all indoor decorations.  The stockings are hung over the fireplace with care.  The rug has been vacuumed and the floor is now bare (i.e. swept).  The only thing left is exterior lights….oh ya, and presents.
This is the Thanksgiving weekend tradition [...]

Pizza and Rock ‘n’ Roll

We had a pretty quiet weekend other than rockin’ out on Sunday morning at New Heights Christian fellowship to the sounds of Caleb Quaye http://www.calebquaye.com/.  Never heard of him?  I’ll bet you’ve heard his work - think guitar on Wild Thing…  Happen to own Elton John’s very first album?  You’ll find him there.  Hall & [...]
